Angelic Pretty x Dal 2012 release - Decoration Dream Dal

I received my Gothic and Lolita Bible #42 in the mail this week. I'll blog more about that later. But there on Page 49 was this gorgeous new Angelic Pretty DAL in Decoration Dream! (So much for closing my collection of Pullip / Dal BJDs). I have not been able to learn much more about her other than her name is Dal Mihara Mitsukazu and that there is also going to be a human-sized outfit replica of her.

Jane by Design

This new ABC Family show, Jane by Design, premiering on Jan 3rd sounds adorable. Hopefully it's not too silly and insipid.

Jane By Design is a light-hearted drama about Jane, a teenager who lands a job at Donovan Decker, a hip fashion house, when they mistake her for an adult. Jane soon finds herself juggling life both as a regular high school student and as an assistant to a high powered executive in the cutthroat world of fashion... all while trying to keep her true identity a secret.

Click on the VIDEOS to see some of the clips. At the very least the fashion looks cute.

Erica Dasher plays Jane Quimby the quirky teen with an eclectic chic fashion sense. She is truly adorable. Definitely plan to watch and blog about the show.

Vogue Archives and a new Fashion App

The entirety of the Vogue archives — every issue since 1892 has been digitally scanned, page by page, and made available through a pricey new subscription site. There are roughly 2,800 issues in the archive (Vogue was published weekly until 1912, and has been monthly, with the exception of some war years, only since 1973) and so it holds the potential for endless examination. Click here to find out more. Also take a look at the 90 second demo! Awesome. Of course, the only down side is that the subscription is $1500 per year. A lovely Holiday gift idea though! Wish they put this all on a DVD!

The "Collection" - A new ipdad app from the New York Times. The Collection, an iPad app from The New York Times, creates a new way for tablet readers to experience The Times's fashion and style coverage. With an elegant, immersive and highly visual user interface, this app is a one-stop destination for all things fashion from across The Times. The Collection builds on exclusive coverage from Styles, T Magazine and The International Herald Tribune and adds slide shows, video and updates from The Times’s fashion blogs. The Collection app is free to download and all content will be free through March 14, 2012. After this date, some content will remain free but only New York Times subscribers will have unlimited access to the app.
Since I subscribe to the Sunday NYT I am able to enjoy this app. It is a great value added addition to my subscription. I love this App.

Vince Camuto Skirt at Nordstroms

Hope you all like this cute new skirt, by Vince Camuto, I bought at Nordstroms last week. I went back a few weeks later, with my girlfriend Becky, and asked her to take a few photos of me with the dummy!

Little White Dress (LWD) - Bridal gown

Short dresses are no longer a fleeting trend in bridal. As boutique weddings grow in popularity these mini alternatives are following suit. It seems to be more of a trend to wear a short dress in the summer. But this style can be worn any time of the year. It is even suggested to wear the little white dress for your rehearsal dinner to reception to your honeymoon or a romantic destination wedding.

Description: Taffeta, Neckline, Spaghetti Straps, Embellishments, Lace-up Back, Bolero/Handbag. Color is Ivory and white. Fabric is Taffeta. I adore the lace-up back, the gorgeous frilly necklace, and the spaghetti straps. The model is wearing classy sandals. But the dress could also be worn with more traditional white satin pumps.

Kashimashi: Girl meets Girl

I just finished watching the Anime Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl!
There were 15 episodes. I really loved the anime. It was so sweet. I felt like I could really relate to all the girls. Hazumu, Tamari and Yasuna. Also, the animation was wonderful. The version I watched (DVD) was dubbed in English.

"Hazumu's friends have always considered him "almost like a girl." But what happens when it becomes literal? After being rejected by the girl he likes, Hazumu goes for a walk in the woods, where an alien spaceship accidentally crash-lands on top of him. To honor the galactic code, the aliens restore Hazumu's life—but have reversed his gender by mistake! Now Hazumu must live the rest of her life as a girl, while the aliens move into her house and follow her around."
That's just the beginning of the anime. It gets even more fun after that!

The title Kashimashi loosely translates as "noisy, boisterous, or clamorous" and is derived from the Japanese phrase, "When three women gather, it is noisy". (LOL - You can just imagine the noise when 20+ Lolitas gather for a meetup).

There are lots of different sub plots in the anime that combine to make this interesting and delightful. At a certain point I developed a real empathy for the main characters.
It's a combination if a gender-bending comedy, lots of Sci-fi with the alien Hitoshi and an artificially intelligent gynoid named Jan Pu. But most of all a very touching romantic love triangle between the three girls!

I also enjoyed the situations where Hazumu's best male friend Asuta Soro also starts having romantic feelings for Hazumu, but tries his best to repress them. Hazumu attempting to buy her first bra is pretty humorous.

I highly recommend the anime for a light an enjoyable treat!

Pullip Romantic Alice Set Announced

I seemed to have missed this announcement last May. The entire collection looks amazing! But the best BJD of the group is Romantic Alice.

Some feedback from another blogger:
Romantic Alice is a gorgeous doll! She's every bit as pretty as her photographs! She is my second Pullip. I love all the ruffles, lace and details.

From the You Tube videos I have seen she looks lovely with an incredible attention to detail.
So, Should I add her to my Pullip collection? Hmmmmmmmmmm.
