May 1, 2011 - Justice!

On May 1, 2011, the 66th anniversary of the death of Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden was killed by American soldiers. Another embodiment of pure evil dies on the trash heap of history.

The photo on the left is from Sept 12, 2001 as the American flag is unveiled from the roof of the Pentagon. God Bless President Obama, our military forces, intelligence agencies and all the men and women who worked for years to bring this terrorist to Justice.

The last image OBL saw on this earth was a group of American Navy Seals come to dispatch him directly to hell!

In a way it is sad how we are acting as Americans..I hang my head in shame..

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

Though we have had our revenge what will keep them from doing the same? Adolf's rein ended when he died but we did not rejoice in such a way as what I saw this day..senseless killings...

Meagan:
An eye for an eye is a concept of equal justice. The phrase, "an eye for an eye", is a quotation from several passages of the Hebrew Bible n which a person who has injured the eye of another is instructed to pay compensation.

From that perspective we should have killed OBL thousands of times for each innocent person he and his followers murdered. But the elimination of OBL has nothing to do with the concept of "an eye for an eye".

OBL and Al Queda violated every last rule of human decency and civilized society. You can argue about how decent humanity is. But the wanton killing of innocent men, women and children is beyond the pale. So speaking of that...

The Nazi's were directly responsible for killing at least 11 million people. 6 million of them Jews. The world barely escaped from complete Nazi domination. The world celebrated, as best as it could, the victory over that despicable evil.

I doubt we achieved complete justice by the elimination of OBL but I do know that the world is a better place without him.

Meagan, I think it's definitely safe to say that Osama Bin Laden's death is not anywhere near categorized as "senseless killing." It was justice and well deserved. But I understand your sentiment.
