Classic Lolita

This is the most classic Lolita OP that I own. Reminds me so much of the styles of Innocent World.

"Lies, if you will"

"Lies, if you will". That's the statement that Wolf Blitzer quotes to characterize the speech given by Representative Paul Ryan at the Republican Convention on Wed evening. (See the video below).

Even worse than that is the part in his speech where he talks about helping the weakest members of society. "We believe government's role is both vital and limited.....and to help provide a safety net for those who cannot provide for themselves." Here is what Catholic Leaders are saying about how Ryan's budget will remove that safety net, decrying Ryan’s budget plan as insensitive to the poorest in our country.

As Abraham Lincoln said, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."
We're NOT fooled Mr Ryan. You are a first class hypocrite.

The Blonds Blonde Diamond Barbie Doll

Phillipe and David Blond believe that every woman should be glamorous every day. The platinum designers create scintillating styles for starlets: gem-encrusted bodysuits; crystal corsets; mini-dresses lavishly embellished with stars, chains, spikes, and sequins. Fun fashion and rock & roll glam are the only rules for these gorgeous garments. Our favorite blonde celebrates The Blonds, dressed for an amazing adventure. Barbie wears a stunning silvery mini corset dress—designed by The Blonds themselves—featuring countless sculpted faux gems and a full length faux fox fur. Of course, luscious blonde curls frame her beautiful face. Accessories include silvery jewelry suite and glitter pumps. Pretty, provocative, and magical, The Blonds Blond Diamond Barbie brings the most sparkly splendor of fashion.

The doll is stunning. But this got a lot of play in the news as "Drag Queen Barbie" because of the Blonds reputation as fashion designers. Philippe Blonde is well known for his female impersonations. The doll does bear a striking resemblance to him. Read more here. The doll is on backorder until December 2012. Yes, I do plan on ordering her when she becomes available.

I'll just let the photos speak for themselves.

Saturday in Savannah

What a fabulous Saturday. Tasty Tea luncheon at the Savannah Tea Room and then a couple hours of walking around Savannah with three lovely, intelligent and sweet Savannah Lolitas. Does it get any better than this?  The photo below was taken at the Savannah Tea Room.

We indulged in the afternoon Tea Service. I ordered the veggie quiche. It came with a bowl of the soup of the day and a green salad. It was so hot outside (90+ degrees) that I had my peach tea iced. So refreshing! After lunch we were served a small plate of cookies and assorted treats to enjoy. The food was tasty, fresh and enjoyable. Of course, the company and the conversation was wonderful also! The service was attentive and excellent.

After lunch we ventured out to do some shopping and browsing. Eventually we made our way to City Market. Reminded me of the two 100+ days I spent in Philadelphia with the Frilladelphia Lolitas!

Im looking forward to going back in the fall. (especially in the cooler weather). We must go back to the Tea Room and indulge again!

Tresor Midnite Rose

My new Fragrance is Tresor Midnite Rose. I've been wearing it now for about a month. The best endorsement I can give is to tell you all that I have been asked, about 15 times or more, about the fragrance I am wearing. Something to the affect of "What is that gorgeous and rosy scent you are wearing?"

I love the packaging with the purple rose on top. The bottle itself is pretty and fits perfectly in my hand. The scent seems to last a long time. Especially since I get compliments on it long after I have sprayed some on. It smells rosy and sweet with a bit of a fruit fragrancy.

It feels glamorous to me whether I am going out for the evening or just for day wear. Though I must admit that it is such a perfect scent to wear with a sexy cocktail dress and heels.

It smells sultry, sophisticated, a tad naughty In the nicest way. Exquisitely feminine and sexy, but ladylike. This is now one of my favorite fragrances! Here is a full review.

You will love the advertisement.

You're on your own economics

Remember "trickle down economics" from the Reagan era? This was a term used by Republicans to refer to the idea that tax breaks or other economic benefits provided by government to businesses and the wealthy will benefit poorer members of society by improving the economy as a whole.  That didn't quite work out too well, as I remember.

“[I]n 2001 and 2003, Congress passed two of the most expensive tax cuts for the wealthy in history,” Obama said. “And what did it get us? … Remember that in those same years, thanks to some of the same folks who are now running Congress, we had weak regulation; we had little oversight; and what did it get us?”  (Anyone remember the economic meltdown of 2008 which was caused by lack of oversight and just plain greed.)

So being a former Wisconsinite I'm very familar with Paul Ryan.  In Ryan, Romney has selected a running mate best known for designing the extreme GOP budget that would end Medicare as we know it, and -- just like Romney's plan -- actually raise taxes on middle-class Americans to pay for an additional $250,000 tax break for millionaires and billionaires. As a leader of the House Republicans and a Tea Party favorite, Congressman Ryan has led the relentless, intensely ideological battle for these kinds of budget-busting policies that punish seniors and the middle class.

-- As an architect of the extreme GOP budget, Ryan will be Romney's biggest advocate for his plan to give more tax breaks to millionaires, paid for by $2,000 in higher taxes on middle-class families with kids.

-- The Ryan plan, which Romney said is "an excellent piece of work, and very much needed," calls for deep cuts in education -- from college scholarships to Head Start -- critical scientific research, and clean energy investments, all to help pay for those tax cuts.

-- Ryan authored the original plan to convert Medicare into a voucher program, costing seniors an additional $6,000 or more each year.

-- Ryan talks tough on balancing the budget, but his own plan would fail to do that for a generation. The burden of balancing any Ryan budget falls squarely on the backs of seniors and middle-class families -- while no one at the top is asked to pay even a dollar more.

-- Both Romney and Ryan are severely conservative, threatening to take us backward on women's issues and civil rights. Ryan cosponsored a bill that would ban common forms of birth control, in vitro fertilization, and abortions even in cases of rape or incest. He voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, voted against the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," and sponsored a constitutional amendment to ban marriage equality.

On so many issues, Paul Ryan, like Mitt Romney, has taken extreme positions that are out of touch with the values most Americans share. Scary stuff.

The fantasy Art of Nikki Burnette

I was in downtown Lawrenceville, Ga on Saturday afternoon to see a play at the Aurora Theatre. As I was walking to the theatre I saw this cute shop called "Sparkle" across the street. So the question is "Why did Andrea cross the street?" Of course - to see all the pretty things in the shop.

As I was browsing the jewelry and other cute girly things I came across the most beautiful Fairy Art.
The lovely sales lady explained to me all about the gorgeous Fantasy Art of Nikki Burnette. I purchased a few lovely postcards because I just did not have time to browse and make any other purchases. This is a link to her ETSY shop. All of her art is beautiful. She has such a creative flair and I love her use of color. My favorites are her fairies. Such as this example. So now I'm browsing her ETSY shop and agonizing about what to purchase.
